Monday's are they the day from Hell?
As a working mother I hate Monday's but I have done a lot to prepare for what I know will be a horrible morning.
Sunday night checklist include:
1. Make sure the uniforms are washed and set out for the morning. (This includes making sure we have enough layers for this crazy brrrr weather we have been having.)
2. Prepare lunches. Making sure the kids are happy with the choices they have, as no one wants the Monday morning whining that they do no like the choices I made. I have decided I have to pick my battles, and what they eat for lunch is not one I want to fight.
3. Backpack preparation: Making sure the famous red folder is in the backpack and the back pack is by the door. As we don't want he melt down in the morning that the red folder has disappered
4. Alarm Prep. We have just started setting my oldest daughters alarm. In hopes that it will save me some time Monday morning in waking her up. As noone but mom seems to wake up, to the alarm.
5. Proper Bedtime. During the weekend we are pretty relaxed when it comes to bedtime, as we are often out and about. We love to wear our kids out, but come Sunday night I know that if my oldest is not in bed by 8 pm she will not be waking up in the morning.
This lead us to the
Monday Morning Checklist:
1. I make the alarm go off on the opposite side of the room. I must get out of bed in order to turn it off.
2. Go into my oldest daughters room, and start the round of wake ups, including hearing "I'm Tired" one to many times.
3. Start Coffee: ASAP
4. Somehow manage to get off to school in time, only to sit in 20-30 minutes just to get on the freeway and ask myself why did we choose this school?
As you can see I have a Sunday night Checklist. This is more of a mental checklist, I do not write it down, but each and every Sunday I go through it, trying to make Monday's more enjoyable. So Monday's are not the day from Hell.
How about you, What are you Sunday night Routines?
